I am very pleased about an ongoing seminar that my friend and colleague Carl Horowitz has just started teaching on Tuesdays at The Breathing Project in New York City. Carl is offering a really great opportunity to deepen your understanding of Yoga practice. Carl has a knack for helping students and teachers to get more from what they are doing by fully articulating all the variables involved in a yoga practice.

My old friend Navtej Johar will be in NYC this Wednesday teaching from 4-8PM at The Breathing Project. I can’t recommend highly enough this very special teacher, who has been a student of T.K.V. Desikachar since 1985 (longer than me). I know it’s last minute, but do whatever you can to be here with us – I guarantee you’ll be happy you did.

The workshop will focus on one or more of the various elements that make up yoga practice in the tradition of Sri T. Krishnamacharya and Sri T.K.V. Desikachar: asana, pranayama, meditation, Vedic chanting, and a study of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.

Anyone in the NYC area with an interest in Yoga and anatomy should not miss this opportunity to join Tom Myers and me on a guided tour through Bodies… The Exhibition, currently on view at the South Street Seaport Exhibition Centre in lower Manhattan. Leslie is an old friend of ours, having met Robert in 1979 at the Sivananda Ashram in Canada, and Eddie in 1987 at the RAPP Arts Center in NYC, where they were neighbors, and Leslie had his first yoga studio.

At Namarupa, we completely support his work and dedication towards this aim.
